Marketing Mix

The 4Ps (Product, Price, Place & Promotion)

First of all, we will talk about our product!

So what is SG Walker, you may ask.

It is a smart phone application that helps tourist to move around, get to know more about Singapore. Our applications have standard walking routes to bring tourist around according to their interest. It also allows them to customize their routes by allowing user to choose their next destination in an area of one kilometer away from the user current location.

Users are also able to know the nearest food centers, restaurants etc while using SG Walker.

We have also integrated weather functions to let user know Singapore’s weather if they are planning a non-sheltered route.

Also, we have integrated the augmented reality browser, known as the AR browser. This helps users to recognize monuments, building and etc upon scanning the monuments through the phone camera. A brief description and the name will be shown upon scanning the monuments.

Thus, our application is basically a self guided tour for tourist with details on how to get there and history or details of the place, landmarks or monuments.

Secondly, we will be talking about the price!

SG Walker is free of charge. We are young in these industries; therefore we are trying to publicize the application without the need to pay a one-time fee.

Profits will be earned by advertisement chargers given by the company that wish to publicize or promote their company’s latest event and coupons etc on SG Walker. Company can also advertise their discount coupons and voucher on our application.

Thirdly, will be the place that we are selling our application.

We will be launching SG Walker in the two biggest market of phone applications, the iPhone application store (Appstore) and the androids marketplace. Through this two smart phone application stores, user can easily download SG Walker.

Last but not least the promotion.
How are we going to promote SG Walker?

First of all, we will be advertising using different social networking sites, for e.g. Facebook and Twitter. Nowadays, there are millions of people using Facebook. It would be easy to create a page with a description about our application and allow us to interact with interested users. Another social networking site Twitter, allows us to communicate with people around the world. This will be able to help us spread the application to potential users. These social networking sites will definitely be an advantage to us.

Secondly, we will also be advertising through word of mouth. Word of mouth is a snowball effect. When users uses SG Walker and it interest them, they will share it with their friends about the application and thus more people will download.

Lastly, we can also advertise though the form of brochures and quick response (QR) code. Broachers with a description about SG Walker can be placed in hotel lobbies, airport arrival halls, museums, heritage centers and selective Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). The QR code can also be displayed in the places mentioned above and this will provide a quick and effortless access to SG Walker. With all this mentioned, it will thus increase the awareness of our application to the tourist.

We have come to an end regarding SG Walker's marketing mix! Hope you enjoyed our post. We will be posting about the SWOT analysis in our next post soon. Stay tune. (:

Love,
BizEngineers
