Today we are going to share with you about Arc GIS.
We use ArcGIS to planned out our routes using the markers on the map. This gives us a clearer view of the places we would like to plan in the routes so as to avoid detours. We also use buffer tools as shown in the picture below to create a 1km boundary.
Please click on the picture to enlarge.
The two figures above shown a one kilometer boundary around Bugis Mrt Station. By using buffer tool in ArcMap, we are able to clearly indentify the religious destination, shopping centres and also food centre within the area.
The figures above depict the Bugis Rojak Route which is one of the standard routes in SG Walker. The route is approximately 2.5 kilometers. It will first start off at Bugis Mrt Station followed by Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, Sri Krishnan Temple, Albert Center Market, Bugis Village, Bugis Junction, Sultan Mosque, Haji Lane/Arab Street, Liang Seah Road and lastly back to Bugis Mrt Station. We include lunch and dinner destination at Albert Center Market and Liang Seah Road respectively.
The figure above
depicts the Orchard Shopping Route which is one of the standard routes in SG
Walker. The route is approximately 3 kilometers. It will first start off at Somerset
Mrt Station (313 @Somerset) followed by Takashimaya, Wisma, Ion Orchard , Shaw
House, Far East Plaza, Lucky Plaza, Paragon, Centre Point, Plaza Singapura and
lastly Dhoby Ghaut Mrt Station. As there are many food courts/ restaurants in
orchard area, users are able to decide on the location to have their meals on
their own.
That's all for now!
Be back for more new updates.
Love,
BizEngineers.
